Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has reacted to recent backlash from music-loving fans following the fallout from the just-ended Grammys where three Nigerians won awards.
Social media has been awashed with trolls from Ghanaians who are of the view that local artistes expend their energies on worthless things which is why they are unable to win relevant international awards.
For many, Nigerian artistes have learned how to churn good songs, collaborate with the right artistes and move away from trivial petty wranglings that do not inure to the good of their industry.
The reason why these people believe the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage were able to win big at the 2021 Grammys.
Following the backlash and the pointing of accusing fingers strongly by fans at various artistes, Shata Wale believes they deserve all the respect in the world. According to him, if Ghanaians think Nigerian musicians are better than they are, they should relocate to their country.
In a tweet, the 1Don wrote: Enough is enough of Ghanaians insulting Ghana artistes ..if you feel we don’t sing well go and stay in nigeria so they can sing for you .. at least that will buy you a dream house kwasiaaaaafuorrr. especially entertainment programs.
Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy are the names on the lips of many Ghanaians since the end of the 2021 Grammys. For many, they believe should these artistes put in more work and professionalism they will well be on the path to winning big awards.
