Fast rising Ghanaian singer, Jackie Acheampong, popularky known as Gyakie begun to gain recognition after her ‘Forever’ song trended on ‘Tik Tok’, a social media platform for quite a while.
In the hopes of further promoting her music career, she travelled to Nigeria to team up with some of the crème-de-la-crème of their industry including Omah Lay, the ‘Infinity’ singer. Together, they released the ‘Forever’ remix which got mixed feelings from her fans. Some of them loved it, whilst some of them were of the view was better and that she should have featured a fellow Ghanaian artiste.
Gyakie then replied to the comments on Twitter saying that her music was not for everyone, and that she only put it out for those who ‘vibe’ with it.
This caused an uproar among Ghanaians on Twitter who felt insulted and threatened to stop listening to her music, since they are the reason she is climbing the ladder to the top.
The singer was then forced to post a subsequent tweet apologizing for her former comment. “Let’s keep pushing Ghana music to the world,” she wrote.

It’s not for everyone. Those who connect to it are the ones I made this for

This is the main reason we don’t support the coming Act. Small hype then pride & sub come from you to the public. Soon you’ll say Nigerians promoted your music more than Ghanaians. Soon your career will be dangling just like Nana Acheampong
