Going broke is a situation that many do their best to avoid. However, as a student or a young adult finding your feet in life, it is almost inevitable. In Nigerian Pidgin, this state of extreme ‘brokeness’ is termed ‘Sapa’.
Though a tough thing to go through, one can look back and laugh when they are successfully able to overcome.
Many Twitter have been left both with hearts full of gratitude and laughter after hearing the ‘Sapa’ stories of their fellow tweeps. Proceed with caution as some are extremely emotional.

Cooked beans without pepper, oil, and maggi, all I had was salt and the beans. I had to put off the light and close all windows while eating so I don’t see what I’m eating. Drank water and slept off immediately after, so I don’t start crying. Pre degree, 2013.
